Business Analyst – Financial Systems

  • Work with FP&A team to develop reporting and actionable analysis that drives decision making
  • Assist with daily tasks associated with Essbase applications including but not limited to executing data loads, running business rules, P&L reports, and loading statistical data
  • Planning and organizing Hyperion Essbase improvement efforts in conjunction with system administrator, IT, and key business owners
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of SmartView reports
  • Develop and document operational and technical processes, functions, and procedures involving Hyperion
  • Act as a liaison between FP&A and IT to translate business needs to technical specifications
  • Assist with rollout of new functionality and QA testing
  • Perform data validation to ensure consistency between Essbase applications and various data sources
  • Identifies opportunities for improving business processes in partnership with process owners and management through Hyperion Essbase and SAP GL financial management associated information systems
  • Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems, and ensures that the system designs fits the needs of the users
  • Trains users and supports training in the usage of Hyperion Essbase
  • Performs related duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related field
  • 2 – 3 years related experience in Financial Planning & Analysis with a strong interest in financial systems
  • Familiarity with Hyperion Essbase, EPMA, and SmartView preferred
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team on multiple, competing priorities
  • History of meeting/exceeding deadlines and delivering high quality results
  • Proven ability to identify, focus, and own high priority tasks
  • Ability to manage time effectively according to priorities and timelines
  • Must be self-motivated and apply good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office abilities with a heavy concentration in Excel
